DR750-2CH LTE Firmware 1.002 Adds Wi-Fi Hotspot Support

Dear BlackVue Users,

The DR750-2CH LTE is BlackVue’s dashcam with built-in 4G LTE. It is currently available in Japan and Australia, and very soon in the rest of the world. While the ability to connect to the Cloud using a SIM card is the dashcam’s main selling point, we wanted to let users connect to any Wi-Fi hotspot as well.

Models Concerned:

  • BlackVue DR750-2CH LTE (all versions)

What’s New:

Version 1.002:
With this new firmware, you will be able to register a Wi-Fi hotspot the same way you would do with other BlackVue Cloud dashcams.
That means you can register your home Wi-Fi–provided it is in range of your car. You could also use an LTE Wi-Fi hotspot provided by any local carrier, which could be handy if you traveled abroad.

※ Compatible software version:
BlackVue App:  Android v3.13 /  iOS v3.13 and up.
BlackVue Viewer:  Windows v3.01  /  Mac v3.02 and up.

For those who are not familiar with the hotspot setup process, here is a tutorial video that covers it:

Important:

Make sure to use the latest versions of the BlackVue Viewer and App for full compatibility when installing a new firmware version.

How to upgrade:

Go to the DOWNLOADS page to access the latest firmware and installation instructions.

You can also use the BlackVue App (DR590W Series) to download the firmware to your mobile device and do a Firmware Over-The-Air upgrade via the BLACKVUE WI-FI menu. Tip: make sure to download the firmware before you connect to your BlackVue in Wi-Fi (since the BlackVue won’t give you the internet connection necessary to download the firmware). If you are already connected to your BlackVue, then disconnect first, download the firwmare, then connect to the BlackVue’s Wi-Fi again.
