SD Card Formatting Software

Please Note: This is a deprecated page. We recommend formatting your microSD card via the BlackVue Viewer for Windows and Mac OS. This is an information page about a third party software program; you must download the program from its original site.

The microSD cards in dashcams are submitted to a large number of writing cycles. This is especially true for smaller microSD cards (16GB and 32GB). In order to maintain optimal performance over time of microSD cards up to 32GB, it is recommended to use this dedicated SD Card Formatter, available for Mac OS and Windows PC.
In case you have issues with your microSD card, we recommend to format it using this software, following the method described below.

Important:
SD Card Formatter is recommended for microSD cards up to 32GB.
For 64GB and 128GB microSD cards, please format using the BlackVue Viewer for Windows and Mac OS X.

Download and installation

Go to https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/index.html and follow the instructions to download and install the program.

How to use

STEP-1 :  Plug the microSD card in your computer (you can use the BlackVue USB adapter for microSD card).

STEP-2 : Launch the SD Card Formatter. It should look like below:

STEP-3 : Click on Option. The following window will open:

STEP-4 : Select FULL (OverWrite) and press OK.

STEP-5 : Click on Format.
